February scripture writing
Back in December I decided to try a Scripture writing plan. I'd never done it before, but I remembered that when I was in college, writing things seemed to help me remember them, so I thought maybe this would help.
I chose an Advent-related plan, partly because December and partly because I wanted to see what the Bible itself says about the birth of Christ when you strip away all the traditions. I really enjoyed it! So in January I chose another plan, this time writing out the "I will" statements in Psalms. That was an eye-opener! As I wrote in this post on Instagram, it boiled down to three things: I will praise the Lord, I will take my focus off myself and put it on him, and I will keep moving forward, not wallowing in my circumstances. It was so good!
Now here we are on February first, and I couldn't really decide on a plan for this month. So I borrowed from a few I found and added some of my own ideas and came up with this 28-day mini-study of God's names and attributes. It is far from exhaustive—we could write about these for an entire year and we'll probably come back to this topic again later. But if you're interested, here's the plan:
Each day, write out the verses. I have a notebook I use just for this purpose. It helps if you read a few verses before and after these—context is always helpful. If you'd like this in Word or PDF format, email me at bensrib@gmail.com and I'll send it to you! Have fun and let me know what you think at the end of the month!
